## The vertical wine town Jerzu climbs the heels at 500 metres, its vines terracing down towards the sea.

The cooperative winery — among the island's oldest — welcomes visitors with guided tastings: from classic Cannonau to reserves ageing with a view over Ogliastra.

## The festival In early August the town becomes a trail of open courtyards, Cannonau on tap and shepherds' dishes: one of Sardinia's most authentic wine festivals — no stages, no plastic, just village, wine and music.
