Stay longer in Ogliastra with a special rate on request and direct contact with us. There is no OTA and no commission in between: you write to us and we agree everything directly. What remains is slow time among the almond trees, which after a few weeks becomes your own.

A long stay at I Mandorli is meant for people who want to live Ogliastra rather than visit it. From September to February our Boutique Country Retreat, set among olive and almond groves in eastern Sardinia, welcomes long stays of at least 30 days, in off-season Sardinia. Our guests are remote workers and digital nomads, artists and couples looking for a creative retreat, and families with pre-school children who don't yet have to plan around the school calendar. For longer stays, rates and services are assessed case by case, looking at the period, the room and the duration.

The first days feel like a holiday. Then, usually around the second week, time changes pace. You learn to recognise the morning light on the olive trees and the birdsong before breakfast, while our two shepherd dogs make their round of the courtyard and the cats pick the best patch of sun. The estate's 20 hectares become your garden: the vegetable plots follow the seasons and the olive trees give the estate's own oil, as they do every year. In the nearby villages, Baunei and Santa Maria Navarrese, the restaurants stay open all year, and going back a few times makes you feel a little less like a guest and a little more like a local.

For remote work, every room has a private bathroom and a stable, fast Wi-Fi connection. You work at your own pace, early in the morning or in the afternoon, and between one call and the next you only need to step outside to look up from the screen: the courtyard, the outdoor spaces of the estate, the shade of the trees. In the evening the quiet of the countryside settles in, so deep that you start hearing the small sounds again. For cold evenings there is a fireplace. Your car stays in the courtyard car park, ready for your free days.

A long stay in Ogliastra spans more than one season. In September the sea is still between 22 and 24 degrees, and the Sa Barza pool usually stays open until mid-November. October brings days between 20 and 25 degrees and the Supramonte trails in their best condition. In November the first rains bring back the green and the olive trees get ready for the harvest. December is Ogliastra's mild winter, with short, clear days, and January is the quietest month of the year, when the days begin to lengthen. In February the almond trees blossom around I Mandorli and the branches turn white: the first sign of a spring that comes early here.

The territory stays within easy reach, even on working days. The beaches of Lotzorai are 12 minutes away by car. Further north the Gulf of Orosei opens up with Cala Goloritzé, where in February you can walk down without meeting anyone, while inland lie the Golgo plateau, the Su Gorropu gorge and the Cannonau wineries of Jerzu. Ogliastra is one of the world's five Blue Zones, and after a few weeks you understand why: the rhythm of the days here is not imposed, it is learned.

In practical terms, the Long Stay has a minimum stay of 30 days with a special rate on request, in double and quadruple rooms with private bathroom. Two cleanings a month are included, and breakfast is available as an optional service, every morning or only when you feel like it. Places are limited. Seasonality and availability

The Long Stay formula is available from September to February, in off-season Sardinia, when the beaches empty and the countryside turns green again after the first rains. Places are limited: please ask us to confirm your period.
