Between September and early November, Ogliastra lives its truest season: beaches empty out, the Supramonte trails become walkable without the heat, villages return to their rhythms and the countryside smells of harvest and olives. The sea is still warm
The Mediterranean releases summer's heat slowly: in September the water stays at 22–24 °C, and in October it rarely drops below 21 °C. You can swim at Cala Mariolu until late October, often with just a few boats around. Days exceed 25 °C; evenings ask only for a light jacket.
