## Why September is the right month

Schools restart, ferries empty out and the Gulf of Orosei becomes breathable again: you reach Cala Mariolu and Cala Goloritzé without booking weeks ahead, parking at Santa Maria Navarrese is easy, restaurants have a table for you again.

Meanwhile the sea stays between 22 and 24 degrees: you swim until evening.

## What to do in September

It is the perfect month to combine sea and trails: mornings by boat to the coves, afternoons walking to Pedra Longa or on the Golgo plateau as the light turns golden.

In the villages, the Cannonau harvest and country festivals begin: the best way to meet the real Ogliastra.
