We say it as locals: September is Ogliastra's worst-kept secret. The sea keeps its August warmth, the trails cool down, villages live harvest and festival season — and our rates drop from €80.
The sea without crowds
The Gulf of Orosei coves breathe again: room on the first boat, Goloritzé without heroic alarms, and some afternoons at Cala Sisine count more goats than umbrellas. The water, warmed by three months of summer, is an embrace.
Trail season
With temperatures below 28°C, Gorropu and Punta Giradili are enjoyable at any hour; it is the month most groups set off on the Selvaggio Blu. September's raking light is the year's best for photographing limestone.
Harvest and festivals
Villages pick grapes and celebrate: country feasts, open courtyards, must scenting the streets. This is the truest Ogliastra — the one that hides in August. With our September "occasione" rates, the smart holiday costs nearly half.
