## The beach of caves The caves are Cala Luna's signature: wide, cool, carved by the sea over millennia.

At midday they are the perfect refuge from the sun; at first light they frame the kind of scene photographers chase for years.

Behind the beach, the freshwater lagoon of the Codula di Luna hosts turtles and dragonflies.

## Boat or hike? By boat it is easy: daily departures from Santa Maria Navarrese and Arbatax, often combined with the Fico Cave.

On foot, the classic trail starts at Cala Fuili (Dorgali): 1h45 of ups and downs through the maquis with constant sea views.

Experienced hikers can walk the long, beautiful Codula di Luna instead.
