A 128-metre needle of limestone and dolomite planted in the Tyrrhenian: Pedra Longa has been a natural monument since 1993 and is one of Sardinia's most photographed silhouettes. The Selvaggio Blu starts here — and the best sunsets end here.
The monument
Geologists read it as a page of Mediterranean history; Sardinians simply call it "sa perda". Around its base, rock platforms descend into deep, transparent water: one of the island's most scenic swims, with fish rising to inspect your feet.
